Pinal County supervisors address marijuana business regulations

There are no medical marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated Pinal County, but there are pages of regulations regarding their operation, including requiring a special-use permit.

Now that voters in November approved allowing the sale of recreational marijuana, county supervisors are discussing options to regulate such businesses.

Proposition 207 allows adults 21 and older to possess and use specified amounts of marijuana and permits growth of a limited number of marijuana plants at a person’s residence in an enclosed, locked area that is not visible from public view. It also establishes the Arizona Department of Health Services as the regulatory authority to issues licenses to establishments for the sale of recreational marijuana.
