The City of Scottsdale has approved $15.9 million in contracts to build new “multi-use sports fields” off Bell Road near 94th Street.

The sports fields were part of the 2019 bond program approved by Scottsdale voters.

One of the new contracts totals $11.4 million and is going to Valley Rain Construction Corp.

A second $4.5 million contract has been awarded to Hunter Contracting Co.

The two contracts were approved by the Scottsdale City Council on Feb. 2.

The voter-approved sports fields project totals $40 million overall.
