Tempe to vote on incentive for orthodontics supplier HQ

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Tempe City Council is scheduled to consider a $150,000 economic development incentive as part of Align Technology’s plans to move its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Tempe’s Watermark development.

Align manufactures 3D digital scanners and clear aligners used in orthodontics — most notably for Invisalign products.

Align has manufacturing plants in China, Israel and Mexico. It is currently based in San Jose.

The $150,000 Tempe incentive as well as a $500,000 incentive from the Arizona Commerce Authority are tied to Align’s plans to bring 150 jobs to the Valley over five years.

The Tempe City Council will consider the $150,000 incentive at its Feb. 11 meeting.
