Opinion: Is Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey running for president? All week long, the signal flags have been waving wildly

I’m expecting to see the pictures any day now of Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey eating corn on the cob at a county fair in Iowa.

OK, so maybe it’ll be virtual corn, given these pandemic times in which we live. But take note, America. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey wants to run for president.

It’s long been believed that Ducey has presidential ambitions but this week, the signal flags began waving wildly. And what better time than now to start raising your profile, just in case Donald Trump decides to step aside.

Signal 1: His GOP-only border pilgrimage

First came his trip to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Like any good Republican, Ducey isn’t about to let a good border crisis go to waste. So on Friday, there he was taking a helicopter tour alongside Florida Sen. Rick Scott, another potential presidential candidate.
