Arizona State Fair has a new location after 116 years

The Arizona State Fair is moving to a new location.

The Arizona Exposition and State Fair Board unanimously voted on March 25 to relocate the 2021 event from the fairgrounds at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix.

This year’s fair will take place at Wild Horse Pass on the Gila River Reservation near Chandler. While the board previously announced tentative dates of Oct. 7-31, Gov. Doug Ducey issued a statement on Thursday saying the state is “currently working to finalize 2021 dates, likely later this year.”

In August, the Arizona State Fair canceled the 2020 event due to COVID-19. Instead, several fair food drive-thru events were held on the fairgrounds.
