Drive-thru division: Rezoning of Taco Bell in Peoria

Division over a drive-thru on Thunderbird Road in Peoria has yet to be finalized.

In a rare occurrence, the City Council recently remanded a zoning case back to the planning & zoning commission after the board denied recommendation to the council last October.

At issue is a 24-hour 7-days-a-week drive-thru at a Taco Bell proposed near 75th Avenue that nearby residents say would bring unwanted traffic and noise to their neighborhood.

The property is not currently zoned to allow for all-night fast food drive-thrus.
