The City of Glendale will hold a public hearing and annexation vote next month related to the development of a proposed 1.2 million square foot of industrial and manfacturing space

The annexation is for unincorporated land that is slated to be developed into a project called The Cubes of Glendale.

The annexation involves 75.6 acres of land at the southeast corner or Reems Road and Northern Avenue.

Chicago-based CRG/Clayco is looking to develop the land with the potential to build out 335 acres with 5.5 million square feet of commercial space.

The current annexation request for 75.6 acres and planned a 1.2 million square foot industrial/manufacturing development.

Members of the council voiced support for the project and annexation at a meeting March 23.

The land currently has rural zoning designation.

Plans calls for the land to be annexed into Glendale and then rezoned for the commercial development.

The Glendale City Council will hold a public hearing tentatively scheduled for April 13 on the annexation and subsequent rezoning plans with a vote potentially on April 27.
