FLORENCE — A longtime administrator at Pinal County has been chosen to be its next leader.
After extensive deliberations in executive session on Wednesday, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to hire Leo Lew as the next county manager. He had been serving as interim county manager since Louis Andersen resigned from the post on Nov. 17. He was previously the deputy county manager.
The board met on Wednesday to determine the next steps in finding Andersen’s official replacement, which could have included opening up the application process to anyone interested. However, they apparently were satisfied with who they already had for the job, and directed the county attorney to enter into contract negotiations with Lew.
