The City of Scottsdale is looking at launching a new economic development strategy that includes a focus on helping existing businesses grow as well as attracting corporate headquarters, entrepreneurs and skilled workers.
The Scottsdale effort will also look to brand the city as an innovation hub and promote the region’s lifestyle and Sonoran Desert climate
The Scottsdale City Council will be briefed at a March 9 meeting on the strategy which has been under development and could be more formally launched as soon as April.
Scottsdale has been challenged to attract and retain corporate and regional headquarters due to lack of large blocks of office and new developments.
The city’s economic development strategy is also slated to have new and enhanced focuses on key industries such as tourism, health care, technology and finance.
