Surprise property rules up for discussion

By Jason Stone | Your Valley

Surprise officials want to replace its generic international standard for property maintenance with one more specific to the city.

Now, they’re looking for comments from residents about a draft property maintenance ordinance, otherwise known as a PMO, to set the standard of how properties should look across the city.

Surprise has scheduled two virtual public meetings — 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13. Links to the virtual public meetings are available at surpriseaz.gov/PMO.

The proposed change is in the middle of a 60-day comment period, so residents can sound off through Sunday, May 2 through an online comment box.
