At its 94th Annual Water Conference and Exhibition in Phoenix today, the AZ Water Association recognized EPCOR USA (EPCOR) with nine safety and operational excellence awards for water and wastewater facilities at the company’s San Tan district facilities.

The AZ Water Association presents water awards of honor every year in the categories of water distribution systems, water treatment, wastewater collection systems, and wastewater treatment. EPCOR served as Interim Manager of the facilities that received these awards from 2018-2020, completing $46 million in improvements to restore safety, reliability and stability. EPCOR acquired the San Tan assets and operations in January 2021 and has identified $138 million in additional work that must be done over the next three years.

EPCOR President Joe Gysel said, “These nine awards recognize significant improvements made to the water and wastewater systems in our San Tan district since 2018. We’re committed to delivering clean, safe water and wastewater services for our San Tan customers and we’re proud to accept these accolades from the AZ Water Association on their behalf.”
