On the heels of the passage of House Bill 2772 — ultimately allowing for legal online sports betting — the PGA Tour and DraftKings Inc. are announcing together a dramatic expansion into the Arizona sports betting market.
Pending regulatory approvals from Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, the PGA Tour and DraftKings have also announced plans to operate a premium retail sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale, 17020 N. Hayden Road.
“When DraftKings became the first Official Betting Operator of the PGA TOUR last summer, a number of possibilities opened up to innovate together,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings.
Representing the PGA Tour is Jordan Rose, founder and president of Scottsdale-based Rose Law Group, who points out responsible sports betting is the next step in sports — and luxury.
“The PGA Tour and the city of Scottsdale are synonymous with luxury and this addition of what should become amongst the greatest sports and entertainment venues on earth will be yet another example of how Scottsdale and the PGA do everything best,” she said.
“Choosing DraftKings as their operator further demonstrates their commitment to luxury.”
