(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.)— Cullum Homes, the Valley’s leading luxury custom home builder, took home the gold in four categories at the 2021 Phoenix MAME Awards. The MAME Awards honor the best in Arizona’s home building industry.
The Scottsdale-based home builder won the titles for Custom Home of the Year 5,000 to 7,500 square feet, Custom Home of the Year over 7,500 square feet, Best Brochure for a Builder, and Best Custom Home Builder Website.
The Home Builders Association of Central Arizona hosted its virtual award ceremony for the 2021 MAME (Major Achievements in Merchandising Excellence) Awards a few weeks ago. The annual event and The MAME awards competition recognize the exemplary efforts of builders and land developers; interior designers and architects; and sales managers and others in the building field.

Cullum Homes won Custom Home of the Year in two separate categories, Custom Home of the Year 5,000 – 7,500 square-feet and Custom Home of the Year over 7,500 square-feet. Both estates that won Custom Home of the Year feature architectural design and construction by Cullum Homes, an honor for every individual involved in the process.
The custom hillside estate in Paradise Valley that won the first category (5,000 – 7,500 square-feet) is a stunning architectural masterpiece designed to provide forever views of the Valley. The spectacular hillside setting presented an unusually challenging building site, with a steep slope, hard dig, and limited staging area for construction. However, the result was a beautifully designed and constructed estate that allows famous Arizona skies and sunsets to fill the space with an opulent glow. The home is an admirable winner of the award.
The winner of Custom Home of the Year Over 7,500 square feet is an artistic feat, with soaring ceilings and a striking floor-to-ceiling fireplace. The homeowners of the project requested a front-facing orientation of all major areas to provide full, unobstructed, and breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain. A 40-foot-high terraced excavation of the mountain behind the home was required to accomplish a balanced light flow, and features water and landscape design elements on multiple levels. The estate is located in Cullum Homes luxury community, Paradise Reserve and it is tucked away in the foothills between Phoenix and Paradise Valley. Paradise Reserve is one of the last luxury gated and guarded communities bordering the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.
Additionally, Cullum Homes won Best Custom Home Builder Website and Best Brochure for a builder. The 2021 Phoenix MAME wins further highlight the Valley’s leading custom home builder’s unique and inclusive offering of services.
