Self-storage facility to be constructed in Mesa

By Richard Dyer | Your Valley

A self-storage facility with boat and RV storage is to be constructed on 18 acres east of Power Road on the south side of Pecos Road.

It’s about 76,000 square feet of self-storage and 92,000 square feet of RV storage, Mesa Planner Evan Balmer said during the May 11 Zoom meeting of the Mesa Design Review Board.

John Reddell of Reddell Architects is the applicant. St. George Enterprises Real Estate LLC/BAM II LLC is the owner.

“This project is a little unique in that it meets all of the standards for building design … for the portions of the site that are visible to the public,” Mr. Balmer said. “The applicant is asking for alternative compliance, but only pertaining to the internal component of the site where the actual roll-up doors are; there, they are asking for alternative compliance from the roof articulation and the material percentages and the number of materials because when we look at these elevations, it’s a storage unit so it’s primarily roll-up doors and masonry.”
