Shifted merger target, 5 other updates as Lucid Motors gets set to start production

Don’t expect Lucid Motors Inc. to complete its “blank check” merger before the third quarter and it’s not in talks with Apple Inc.

Those are two of a series of updates the Newark, California company offered in the past week as it gets set to actually begin producing luxury electric sedans for customers. Production will take place at the company’s new Casa Grande manufacturing plant in Pinal County south of Phoenix.
