CASA GRANDE — The city and Arizona Water Company will partner to bring water to Copper Mountain Ranch, west of Pinal Avenue near Interstate 10, so that development can begin in the future.
Previously, the community had been discussed for decades. In April, Mayor Craig McFarland said it may become a reality in the near future.
Some of the big issues in discussions have been transportation, water and density.
“As Casa Grande continues to grow we, actually as a byproduct of this water resources planning effort, had a discussion with Arizona Water about potential options that would open the Copper Mountain Ranch development for potential development opportunities,” City Manager Larry Rains told the City Council Monday night.
