Developer quits Old Town Peoria project

An intricate plan to redevelop and enhance portions of Old Town Peoria is dead after the private developer attached to the plan backed out, citing various issues with the city including the termination of the city’s economic development director.

In a June 3 letter addressed to the Peoria mayor, City Council and city leaders, obtained by the Phoenix Business Journal through a public records request, Walter Crutchfield, partner at Vintage Partners, listed several factors as to why the firm would no longer proceed with the public-private partnership.
