After months of closed-door negotiations, south Queen Creek will be the site of the town’s third high school.
That property, if negotiations for the land are successful, is a parcel of Jorde Farms.
“The first part of the process is to acquire the land and once we get the land acquired, which we anticipate happening relatively shortly, we think construction would break ground by probably within the next semester,” said Matt Strom, associate superintendent of Business and Operations for the Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD). “The [Arizona] School Facilities Board has approved us to open in July of 2022. It looks very, very promising. That’s about all I can say on that.”
Recently, the Queen Creek Town Council approved the creation of a subdivision on a portion of Jorde Farms if all planning and zoning requests are met.
