Old Town Scottsdale rezoning proposed

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

Property owners in downtown Scottsdale are asking the city for the rezoning of a 0.6-acre parcel on Indian School Road near Miller Road.

The city of Scottsdale has received a rezoning request for the parcel to be rezoned for “neighborhood commercial” purposes.

Property owners — Casey Fromm (who owns 7700 East Indian School) and Thomas Newland (who owns 7712 East Indian School) have requested general plan and zoning district changes with the city.

That would allow for new commercial projects to be built on the site. City officials said no development plans for changes to the property have been filed as part of the rezoning.

One request ask the city for a non-major General Plan amendment from office to commercial land use designation and another requests a zoning district map amendment from Service Residential (S-R) to Neighborhood Commercial (C-1).
