Opinion: The GOP-controlled Arizona Legislature plans yet another assault on our constitutional right to go around them and make laws – or veto them – all on our own at the ballot box.

Not content with making it more difficult to vote, the Arizona Legislature also is working on bills to make it more difficult to exercise our right to make laws at the ballot box.
The Arizona Legislature is expected to wrap up its work this week, having already enacted a massive tax cut for rich people and thrown up a few more barriers making it more difficult for certain people to vote.
But our leaders aren’t done yet.
This week, Republicans plan an assault on our constitutional right to go around them and make laws all on our own.
In past years, they’ve passed a raft of new laws to weaken our right to enact laws via initiatives or reject them via referendums (think voucher expansion).
This time, they’re coming right at us.
Goal: Don’t let a majority pass laws they don’t like.
