Queen Creek’s Town Manager Celebrates 25 Years at post

By Your Valley

Queen Creek has experienced various changes since it incorporated in 1989, but one element has remained constant since 1996 — the leadership of John Kross.

Mr. Kross started with the town in 1996 as community development director. During his 25-year tenure with the town, he also served as the assistant town manager before he was unanimously approved as town manager in 2007.

“Under John’s leadership, we have achieved a number of fantastic milestones from starting a fire department and police department, to acquiring a water company and making substantial progress related to our roadway infrastructure,” said Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney in a press release. “John has also ensured a strong financial position for the town. The town’s bond rating has continued to increase and with our recently approved budget, Queen Creek will be the first municipality in the state to have a fully funded pension reserve! We are fortunate to have had the past 25 years with John and look forward to what the future holds!”
