It’s been a little more than six months since recreational marijuana became legal in the state of Arizona — a boom for dispensaries, one official says.
Further than that, however, Ryan Hermansky, who serves as president of the Arizona Dispensary Association, points out the added health and safety benefits of tested and regulated marijuana.
“There quite frankly were a lot of people out there who were casually smoking, but for whatever reason didn’t have a medical marijuana card,” Hermansky said. “Now they’re able to go into a dispensary and purchase products they want, make choices on their own — they’re participating in a regulated, legal market for tested products versus getting it any way they might have been before.”
In addition to leading the dispensary association, Hermansky is co-founder of Pure Edibles, owner of a dispensary in Flagstaff and a longtime Scottsdale resident.
