Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton announced he was running for Tempe City Council

A former Arizona Cardinals quarterback announced Wednesday that he is running for the Tempe City Council.

John Skelton, who the Cardinals drafted out of Fordham in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft, announced his candidacy in a video on social media.

In the video, Skelton said he decided to make his home in Tempe after his NFL playing days were through.
