My Sister’s Closet CEO Donates $39,000 to Fresh Start Women’s Foundation

(PHOENIX)- My Sister’s Closet, My Sister’s Attic, Well Suited and My Sisters’ Charities Thrift Store is proud to announce a new $39,000 donation made to Fresh Start Women’s Foundation this month.

Fulfilling a May Mother’s Day pledge initiative, My Sister’s Closet CEO and Founder Ann Siner made the donation this month to Fresh Start, an organization she has been dedicated to supporting for the last decade.

Since opening its doors in 1992, Fresh Start has advanced its mission of providing education, resources, and support for women to positively transform their lives and strengthen the community. Fresh Start’s vision is for every woman to reach their full potential by achieving personal empowerment and financial self-sufficiency.

Siner, the founder of Eco-Chic Consignments, Inc. and longtime philanthropist in the Valley, finds this mission inspiring and has continued to strategically partner with Fresh Start over the years, an effort that has generated resounding positive change within her community.

For her work, Siner received Fresh Start’s 2020 Founders’ Award, an award that honors women who demonstrate a remarkable commitment to helping others thrive. She has since continued to embody all that the award represents: a generous giver of talent, time, and treasures.

Siner’s relationship with Fresh Start began with her service as a board member from 2012 to 2016, as well as a Gala Co-Chair in 2014. Throughout the years, My Sisters’ Charities has been able to support Fresh Start with more $100,000 in donations. Siner has always had a passion for Fresh Start and cares deeply about empowering and lifting up women.

“One of the best things about Fresh Start is that they give a hand up, not a handout. They literally turn around the lives of thousands of women. What would women do without Fresh Start?” asks Siner.

Siner’s contributions are saving lives and helping women across the Valley.

“Ann is an invaluable force for good, both here at Fresh Start and within the broader community,” says Kim McWaters, President and CEO of Fresh Start. “Her generosity and philanthropic efforts allow us to continue serving women in the Valley at a time when resources and support are so vital. We are deeply honored that she thought of us to be the recipient of the May Mother’s Day pledge initiative. On behalf of all of us and the women we serve, we offer our most sincere gratitude.”

Many of Fresh Start’s clients are single mothers and face barriers including poverty, domestic violence, homelessness, and limited access to educational opportunities. These factors impact a woman’s ability to become financially self-sufficient. Every woman who turns to Fresh Start for help comes with her own unique story, and the staff at Fresh Start work to meet her where she is to help her find her strength and chart a path forward.

The generous contribution made on behalf of My Sisters’ Charities will allow women to continue accessing the support they need in order to turn their lives around as part of Fresh Start’s mission: helping women help themselves.
