Phoenix mayor on White House meeting: Federal bill will have ‘once in a generational investment in infrastructure’

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego was among a group of mayors and governors to meet with President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Labor Secretary Marty Walsh on Wednesday to discuss the federal infrastructure framework that has been a priority for the president since taking office.

After the meeting at the White House, Gallego, who has outlined several infrastructure priorities, including the rail system, buses, streets, water infrastructure and highways, spoke with the Phoenix Business Journal about what came out of the discussion. Responses have been edited for clarity.
