Republicans won the Game of Politics. Can Democrats redeem themselves next year?

Opinion: Gov. Doug Ducey and Republican lawmakers gave a huge tax to the rich, and Democrats were powerless to stop it. Will Democrats learn their lesson?

Hey, Arizona Democrats. Take it from the Phoenix Suns and redeem yourselves in next year’s election.

In Game 6 of the Western Conference on Wednesday night, the Suns clinched a win against the Los Angeles Clippers and are now heading to the NBA finals.

Arizonans went wild. It’s something they hadn’t seen in nearly three decades. Getting to this point was painfully slow. But it happened, and that’s all that matters.

Earlier on Wednesday, Gov. Doug Ducey and state Republicans scored big in their Game of Politics, closing out a legislative session with a brilliant performance against the Democrats and – voters.

Team Republican sealed a nearly $13 billion budget that included a huge tax cut for the rich, millions for border security and penalized school districts and educators caught teaching critical race theory.

Ducey doesn’t have to explain. He knows he won.
