Surprise is searching for a “fiscally savvy” city manager to lead the northwest Valley suburb of more than 140,000 residents, city officials announced Wednesday.
The search comes amid the “impending January 2022 retirement” of top executive Mike Frazier, who first joined the city in 2011.
The next city manager, whom city officials say they hope to name by December, will lead a staff of more than 1,000 full-time employees and manage a budget of more than $437 million. The top executive will report to the City Council.
