Chris Paul is staying in the Valley.
After leading the Phoenix Suns to the NBA Finals in his first season with the franchise, Paul has agreed to a four-year, $120-million deal with Suns after declining a $44.2-million option to become an unrestricted free agent.
The Republic confirmed the deal though league sources as ESPN and Yahoo! Sports first reported the news.
After being eliminated in the finals against the Milwaukee Bucks, Paul addressed his future that gave some optimism for him staying in Phoenix.
“We’re going to process this and figure this out,” Paul said after Game 6 loss at Fiserv Forum. “I think everything else will take care of itself.”
A week later, Suns General Manager James Jones sounded confident in Phoenix’s chances of keeping the 11-time All-Star.
