‘Explosion in demand:’ Valley shopping centers are thriving again — and investors are taking notice

Retailers, landlords and retail real estate brokers are used to bad headlines by now.

Since the advent of e-commerce, predictions of the impending doom of the brick-and-mortar retail industry have been plentiful. While there have been bankruptcies and liquidations of some large national retailers, the Valley hasn’t been littered with scores of empty storefronts — rather, other businesses have filled in and taken over many of the vacated spaces.
