John Carlson is president of Mark-Taylor Residential, the largest apartment developer in Arizona history — he’s also a Scottsdale resident.
Apartment buildings are no longer for broke college students; thousands of people across the Valley call a multifamily residential unit home. According to Mark-Taylor, they house 32,000 Arizonans.
Carlson knows what it’s like to live in an apartment first hand. He lived in a Mark-Taylor building before being employed by them.
While Maricopa County is growing at a record pace, Mark-Taylor has been named the second-largest owner of rental companies in the state. The organization is investment manager to more than 19,000 units.
In Scottsdale, Mark-Taylor has several properties that house residents of all walks of life. The newest property, San Artes, opened recently near The Princess Resort.
Last month, we chatted with Carlson about the boom of the multifamily residential lifestyle.
