Parents of young athletes may be excited to know a portion of the sports field project near WestWorld voters approved in 2019 is in pursuit of the city’s blessing.
However, some residents worry about the impact organized sports will have on their neighborhoods.
The Scottsdale Planning Commission on Aug. 11 will consider recommending approval of a site plan for the proposed sports fields near WestWorld.
The WestWorld Sports Fields are one of the 2019 voter-approved bond projects. The request is for a municipal use master site plan for a new 29-acre multiuse sports field with field lighting at the east side of WestWorld.
