Arizona ranked as one of the worst states in the country for teachers

By KTAR.COM

A personal finance website ranked Arizona as one of the worst states in the country for teachers, citing a high student-to-teacher ratio and educator turnover.

WalletHub compared the 50 states and Washington, D.C., based on 24 indicators and ranked Arizona No. 48, continuing a trend that has been going on for years.

“Arizona typically ranks in the bottom-five for teachers, and I don’t think that’s a surprise here,” Jill Gonzalez, WalletHub analyst, told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

Arizona ranked as the worst state for teachers last year and was second-to-last in 2019.
