Eight Arizonans appear on Forbes’ newest list of the 400 richest people in America unveiled Oct. 5. Despite the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, most of them saw their wealth increase.
Arizona’s wealthiest resident, Ernest Garcia II, 64, the biggest shareholder of online vehicle retailer Carvana (NYSE: CVNA), jumped to No. 39 on the list. Garcia saw his fortune nearly double over the last year, from $9.6 billion in 2020, to $18.8 billion in 2021. He is also the founder of DriveTimeAutomotive.
