CASA GRANDE — After a week in which Lucid Motors opened its facility for tours and announced plans to deliver Dream Edition vehicles this month, the Casa Grande City Council took time during its Monday night meeting to express how excited they are.
Individual council members recounted their visit to the manufacturing site and noted what a relief it is that the company has driven past the potential of a false promise like the defunct PhoenixMart wholesale center and is speeding straight ahead toward dramatic expansion plans.
“The Lucid event: oh my gosh, it was so cool,” said Councilwoman Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons. “What is so amazing was not only the vehicles, but looking around and seeing all the employees that are local. I had the privilege of talking to several of them, and they love their job. It’s so nice to see.”
