GPEC takes home top global honors for economic development

The Greater Phoenix Economic Council was named the top economic development organization in the world Tuesday at the International Economic Development Council annual conference.

GPEC President and CEO Chris Camacho said over 500 organizations were considered, and GPEC was chosen by peer organizations, based on factors like how well the organization executed its business plan, job creation results and unique approaches to problems, like the Covid-19 pandemic. GPEC was named the top organization in the category representing a population of more than 500,000.
