Pinal County riding economic impact of Lucid’s vehicle rollout

CASA GRANDE — Lucid Motors is just about ready to begin delivering cars to customers, but Casa Grande and the surrounding region has already felt the impact of the electric vehicle start-up’s presence.

With over 1,000 workers already directly employed between Lucid’s two manufacturing facilities in Casa Grande — both the power train battery and larger automobile plant — the ripple effect has already affected the local landscape with new housing demand and a need for workers.

“It’s a good time to be in Casa Grande from our standpoint,” said Casa Grande Economic Development Director Richard Wilkie. “Lucid is a beacon for the EV industry, and it’s going to mean a great deal to Pinal County and the state. When you have all the suppliers and added value of companies having to locate near here, the multiplier is significant.”
