Another massive data center and the continent’s largest sports and entertainment complex are among the defining developments taking shape in the Valley’s second-largest city, which has become a draw for major industrial development and redevelopment efforts.
The city of Mesa has focused its economic development efforts in several key areas, including southeast Mesa and the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport area, Falcon Field Airport in north Mesa, the area near Sloan Park near Loop 202, and the southwestern portion of the city near Fiesta Mall, Bill Jabjiniak, economic development director for the city of Mesa, said in a recent panel discussion hosted by the Phoenix Business Journal.
