CG council supports higher density within planned neighborhoods

CASA GRANDE — Since Lucid Motors began its hiring spree, the housing market in Casa Grande has been in a race to meet the demands of the job market.

During their meeting Monday, Nov. 1, Casa Grande City Council members approved several zone changes they say will increase affordable housing in the city.

Two of the three zone changes switched the planned area developments of Carlton Commons, roughly southeast of Fiesta Grande RV Resort, and Sonoran Heights, northeast of Henness and Earley roads, to an R-2 designation so they could add 245 and 222 lots, respectively, without changing the size of the neighborhoods.
