Florida firm buys RPA engineering group.

Ritoch-Powell & Associates (RPA), a civil engineering firm based in Phoenix, has been acquired by Ardurra Group Inc.

Ardurra is based in Tampa and the RPA acquisition will give the engineering firm a new foothold in Arizona and other Western states.

RPA will operate as RPA, an Ardurra Group Company, from its offices in Mesa and Phoenix.

“We knew from our first meeting that combining forces was something we needed to do. We share similar cultures, market strategies and a strong focus on client service. This was a no brainer. We are excited to continue building a special company with RPA,” said Ardurra President and CEO Ernesto Aguilar.

Ardurra is owned by private equity firm RTC Partners.

It has done engineering work for Disney World, the National Zoo in Washington D.C., the city of New Orleans and various governments and private sector clients in Florida.

RPA’s portfolio includes work on the DeSoto Market project in downtown Phoenix, Lake Pleasant Parkway in the West Valley and Pioneer Community Park in Peoria.

“Our main goal is to provide opportunities to our staff and allow them to experience new and exciting projects. The cultures of Ardurra and RPA are completely parallel, making this merger a 1 plus 1 equals 3 versus. 2,” said Karl Obergh, RPA president.
