Phoenix-based Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc. has named Louis Hobson to its board of directors.

Hobson was also appointed to the trucking company’s audit and corporate governance committees.

Hobson currently serves as the senior vice president responsible for North American flood insurance at Chubb. Prior to Chubb, Mr. Hobson also previously served as the CEO of National Flood Services, a flood insurance firm.

Hobson is also a former Stanford University football player, a two-year starter at defensive end and member of Stanford’s 2000 Rose Bowl team.

The Arizona-based trucking and transportation company also announced Nov. 4 that it is paying a $ 0.10 per share quarterly dividend to shareholders.
