The City of Phoenix is looking for development proposals for aviation-related projects on 40-acres of land at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
The parcels are in the northwest portion of the airport property near Honeywell Aerospace’s footprint.
Potential uses for the airport land “could include commercial facilities for a potential Fixed Based Operator (FBO), warehouse space for air cargo operations, and/or non-commercial facilities such as aircraft storage,” according to city documents related to potential redevelopment of the area.
The city has issued a Request for Information to gauge interest and potential ideas for the 40 acres.
There are some existing structures within the 40-acre area that could be redeveloped or demolished, according to a city presentation.
The city also wants to see how potential developers would finance aerospace and aviation related projects on the northwest airport parcel.
Information submittals from developers and aviation users are due Dec. 17.
