CASA GRANDE – Things could move quickly on residential developments approved by the city, as the demand for housing in Casa Grande and Pinal County continues to rise.
At the latest City Council meeting on Monday, a number of zoning changes were approved in order to accommodate adding lots to new neighborhoods, and developers in attendance said that they had received letters of intent from builders and that there was “high interest” in the smaller lot sizes.
The council indicated support for the Planning and Zoning Commission’s request that all site plans still include at least 20% open space. For the five neighborhoods rezoned by the council on Monday, all developers said they would be fine with that stipulation. Many proposed subdivisions are expected to include portions of the city’s regional trail, or are adjacent to a wash.
