The City of Phoenix will hold a pre-submittal conference Dec. 9 for potential bidders for request for proposals for new and rehabilitated affordable housing.
The city is looking to up the inventory of affordable housing as apartment rents and home prices climb regionally and homelessness and housing insecurity increase during the coronavirus pandemic.
Phoenix issued a “call for interest” for potential affordable housing developments and renovations on Nov. 22.
The Dec. 9 conference will be held at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a Jan. 31 deadline for housing groups and developers to indicate they will submit plans and ideas.
Formal submissions are due Feb. 7.
The city is looking to provide low-interest financing to help foster more affordable housing projects citywide.
