Plans have been submitted in downtown Scottsdale for a new 247-unit residential health care project on the site of the Olive Garden restaurant near Scottsdale Road and Osborn Road.
Aspirant Development / The Empire Group of Companies (Geoffrey Jacobs) is proposing the health care facility and nursing home with 132 independent living units and 115 assisted living and memory care units.
The Olive Garden restaurant will be closing, according to development plans submitted with the City of Scottsdale.
The site totals 3.59 acres at 3380 N Scottsdale Road.
The developer is asking for a zoning district map amendment to amend an existing development plan and zoning stipulations along with a conditional use permit for the project.
Scottsdale is being asked to approve the plans including a 74-foot building height for the project — which includes “mechanical appurtenances”, according to plans submitted with the city.
The development is called The Osborn and is across Scottsdale Road from the 45-acre HonorHealth Osborn hospital campus.
The project team includes the Gensler architecture firm, Technical Solutions, Lokahi Group and Sydnor architectural design.
