Restaurant eyed for Scottsdale gas station site

Plans have been submitted in Scottsdale to bring a restaurant to a former gas station site.

A Tropical Smoothie Cafe is being proposed for a 0.47-acre property at 9550 North 90th Street.

That is near 90th Street and Mountain View Road in the Shea Boulevard area of Scottsdale.

The city is being asked to rezone the parcel from “General Commercial, Planned Community Development (C-4, PCD) to Central Business, Planned Community Development (C-2, PCD)”, according to public documents.  

The zoning change will allow for more commercial uses on the site.

County records show 9550 N. 90th Street is owned by Ranch Auto Center LLC. The property was home to a Valero service station.
