FLORENCE – Brent Billingsley, Florence town manager for six years, submitted his resignation to the Town Council Jan. 5.
“Brent has truly done an amazing job,” Mayor Tara Walter commented through a spokesman. “With his help and leadership, the town has made meaningful progress on a number of our priority issues including infrastructure, redevelopment planning and water sustainability. Both I and the town wish him luck and all the best on his next venture.”
Lisa Garcia, deputy town manager/town clerk, will be interim manager while the council recruits a new manager. Billingsley’s last day will be Feb. 4.
