The contract will be funded with $24 million in Gilbert’s Water Resources Municipal Property Corp. bonds.

The council is being asked to approve the financing for the contract as well as to have the procurement awarded to a joint bid from Sundt Construction and PCL Construction.

The North Water Treatment Plant (NWTP) is located near Guadalupe Road and Higley Road. “The treatment plant is slated to provide more than 70% of the Town’s available water supply at build out,” according to city documents.

The council will vote on the bond money and contract award at its Jan. 25 meeting.

The water plant has been in operation since 1996.
