A contract for more than $16 million is up for Scottsdale City Council approval to replace and improve portions of Civic Center Plaza in its pursuit to be an “event ready” venue.
If approved, plans for the open space area around City Hall, near Old Town Scottsdale, includes public wifi, playground equipment and infrastructure for performances.
On Monday, Jan. 31, Scottsdale City Council’s meeting agenda includes an action item to approve a construction manager at risk contract modification in the amount of $16,744,212. The project is: Replace aging infrastructure and improve public and event spaces on Civic Center Plaza. A secondary project is also identified, which is providing free public wifi to the same location.
