Smoke Tree Resort filed for bankruptcy amid ongoing legal case with Paradise Valley

Gentree LLC, the owner of Smoke Tree Resort, filed for bankruptcy last July, court records show.

The bankruptcy case paused a condemnation court fight between Gentree and the Town of Paradise Valley.

However, in late December, U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the district of Arizona lifted a stay on the town’s condemnation case.

The condemnation case dates to 2019, when the town sought to obtain easements and right of way in connection with street and sidewalk improvements on Lincoln Drive, east of Mockingbird Lane.
