Buckeye hires a city manager after a monthslong search

The Buckeye City Council moved to hire Daniel Cotterman as its new city manager on Thursday, unanimously voting to direct staff to begin negotiations on the employment agreement.

“He checks all the boxes for us,” Mayor Eric Orsborn told The Arizona Republic.

Cotterman lives in Buckeye and understands the issues the city faces, Orsborn said.

Cotterman has spent the past nine years working for neighboring Goodyear, first as an information technology director and then as a deputy city manager.
